WELCOME

Thank you for booking your family portraits with Forever Captured Images

I hope that you find the information below helpful and informative as you begin your photographic journey with Forever Captured images.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or by phone.  I look forward to meeting you and your family.

I am a wife to a fantastic husband, a mom to a wonderful child, and a native San Diegan.  I love my life here in Encinitas, but I also enjoy traveling and spending time with my family, preferable on a beach (with big surf for my husband) or a forest in central Oregon, or just in the sprawling 10 acres of my sister's house in Idaho.

Being a photographer has given me the opportunity to meet some incredible people, work along side talented artists and give back to some awesome charities.

I feel so blessed to be able to photograph families and children.  I love that I am outside having fun, laughing and being silly while I work.  At my photo shoots I aim to capture just that, children and their parents just as they are, having fun with the family or those great quiet moments in between.  My goal is that you will not only have beautiful images on your walls and coffee table that you will cherish forever, but that you will have fun doing it.

Time saving tip:  Wear what's on the floor,  I read this in Title Nine and found it to be so true.  Laundry is much easier now.

Bragging Rights:  Beating the 5% odds of living after giving birth to my daughter - nothing less than a miracle.

Interesting Fact:  I found out I was pregnant in the middle of a jungle in Java.

Weekly Ritual:  Eating breakfast at Ki's with my husband.

Happy Place:  When my husband comes home from getting barreled, his boyish enthusiasm is priceless.

What to expect

ANTICIPATION

"How will I know where to meet you?  you ask.  Be on the look out a couple days before your photo shoot, you will receive a confirmation email with the directions and a few more details..

MY STYLE

My style of photography is both casual and natural.  I feel the best images are taken when your family is less aware and posed in front of the camera. I love capturing both the quiet and the crazy moments between family members.  The times where you are authentically engaged with one another, as if I am invisible.  Of course it is not an easy task to forget about the camera and that is where my professional expertise comes in handy.

When we begin our photo shoot, I will direct you to look and pose certain ways to make sure you have some treasured traditional poses, but as the session develops and we get to know each other, I will have you interact with one another more and more.  This is the time where you will play, talk, laugh and be silly while I will capture those genuine and beautiful documentary style portraits of you and your children.   Don't worry, there is no need for 'acting' or pretending when it comes to loving your children that comes naturally.

When taking portraits of children, I have found that they can be UNPREDICTABLE...so it is my job to be ready for anything!  A lot of times parents get frustrated because sessions don't seem to be going perfect...their child is not listening or following directions, but the wonderful thing is that those small moments in between all the tantrums and chaos are beautiful captures too.  People often ask me how I even manage to get one great photograph of their wild child.  The answer is simple...it's my job to capture it all!!!  So...the only job I give you as the parent is to relax and enjoy it!

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR SESSION

Please bring clothing and accessories as needed.  You can arrive and get your children dressed at the session if you are worried about them getting messy on the way.  Please also bring chap-stick or lip gloss for children (helps with chapped lips, they are very hard to Photoshop).  To be extra prepared, bring snacks and a favorite toy for small children to comfort them if they are feeling overwhelmed at the session.

WHAT'S NEXT

If you have not scheduled your in-home consultation, please do so.  The consultation is important because this is where you will be viewing your images for the first time either in the comfort of you home or mine.  Try to schedule it 14 days out from your shoot.  While you are waiting for your appointment, I will be processing and editing your images to perfection.  At the consultation, I will help you choose the right prints and products that will make the most impact on your walls and the most sense for your family.  I will bring samples and my Ipad (it has a specially designed app that will allow you to see your images on your wall).  WOW!! Oh, and I will bring along some yummy treats.

The best part...your order will be ready for you 14 days after your consultation, with the exception of canvases and albums.  Those items require 4 to 6 weeks in production.
