So this is my dad's first great grandson, Gaetano James. Isn't he beautiful!

My nephew, GJ, lived with us while I was in high school and I spent a lot of time with him. One summer, the summer I got my driver's license, I took him to the beach everyday. He was 5 and was so easy. There was no packing lunches, drinks or snacks, only sun screen, a towel and a sweatshirt. He would never complain or nag. He would keep himself occupied building sand castles, playing at the water's edge or playing smash ball with whomever would play with him. The summer I spent with him was one of my favorite summers.

Now he has his own boy and I can't wait to see little Tommy grow up.
Maybe I will be able to take him to the beach one of these summers.
